  • The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has given a approval to Spice Digital Ltd. for processing bill payments under the Bharat Bill Payment System (BBPS) as a Bharat Bill Payment Operating Unit (BBPOU).
  • The Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry has constituted a Task Force on Artificial Intelligence for India’s Economic lection. The Committee panel has 18-members including experts, researchers, industry leaders from different fields. Committee is headed by Dr. V. Kamakoti, a professor of computer science and engineering.
  • The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) under Ministry of commerce has banned import of items made of gold and silver from South Korea. India has a free trade agreement (FTA) with South Korea.
  • A parliamentary standing committee on science & technology and environment & forest said in its report that no genetically modified (GM) crop should be introduced unless its biosafety and socio- economic desirability is evaluated. The report named as “GM crop and its impact on environment”.
  • The Union Civil Aviation Ministry has eased several norms under UDAN Schmem (Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik Scheme). Government wants to attract more airlines and helicopter service providers to participate in regional connectivity scheme (RCS). Recently second round of bidding for the RCS were announced and results will be announced in November.
  • North East’s village Nungthaang Tampak in Manipur has beome India’s 2nd and North East’s First 100% Computer Literate Village. First village is Kerala’s Chamravattom. The computer courses was organized by Mangal Rural under Digital India program. The computer courses are affiliated with All India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology (AISECT).
  • Reserve Bank of India has appointed a committee who suggested banks link their home loan rates to the RBI’s repo rate. Repo rate is the rate at which it RBI lends to banks.
  • Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the grid-connected rooftop solar project through net-metering system. CM also launched rooftop solar programme web portal –
  • The Indian Coast Guard Training Ship Varuna decommissioned after its 30 year of service. Indian Coast Guard Ship Sarathi will take place of ICGS Varuna.

  • Nepal launched its climate-smart snow leopard landscape management plan. Plan lead to safe endangered species and to protect its habitat. This is the first climate-smart landscape management plan for snow leopard conservation in the world.
  • The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAN) inked a MoU with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN). Mr. Nilesh Vikamsey, President-ICAI and Mr. Prakash Jung Thapa, President-ICAN exchanged the MoU.
