Railway Union Minister Suresh Prabhu offered his resignation to PM– Taking full moral responsibility honorable Railway Union Minister Mr. Suresh Prabhu has offered his resignation for the recent train accidents. Recent train accident happened on 23rd August when 10 coaches of the Delhi-bound Kaifiyat Express derailed in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh after it hit a dumper truck stuck on the tracks. Around 20 people were injured. This is the second train derailment happened in last five days. Earlier this accident an another train accident happened on 19th August when Puri-Haridwar Utkal Express derailed in Uttar Pradesh due to lapses in the track maintenance work. Officially 23 people killed in this accident.

He twitted ‘In less than three years as Minister, I have devoted my blood and sweat for the betterment of the Railways.’

Suresh Prabhu on Wednesday twitted “I met Prime Minister Narendra Modi taking full moral responsibility. Honourable PM has asked me to wait.”

“Under the leadership of PM, tried to overcome decades of neglect through systemic reforms in all areas leading to unprecedented investment & milestones,” he said.

“New India envisioned by PM deserves a Railway which is efficient and modern. I promise that is the path, on which Railway is progressing now,” he added

Expressing his regret, he said “I am extremely pained by the unfortunate accidents, injuries to passengers and loss of precious lives. It has caused me deep anguish.”

At last, he twitted “I met the Hon’ble Prime Minister @narendramodi taking full moral responsibility. Hon’ble PM has asked me to wait.”

Another official from Railway Ministry Mr. AK Mittal, Railway Board Chairman offered his resignation also. Mr. Mittal reappointed as the Chairman in a rare condition till July 2018. His retirement date was in July last year.
